It is a well known fact that most business failures are due to poor or non-existent business planning. In this series of posts I am going to cover the process of business planning from strategy to execution AND cover how your web site integrates with this process.

At the most basic level strategy is really about two things and their relationship to each other;   1) Sales   and   2) Cost

The Sales you get are a result of the way you plan the “Positioning” of the business in the marketplace and the Costs are derived from the way you structure and run the business. The two things are not mutually exclusive of course, the way you run and manage the business should be directly related to the way you have planned to “position” the business.

If you get both of these strategy elements right, then what should follow is “PROFIT” and “CASH” and if you consistently plan and adapt, then what should also follow is “GROWTH”.

In this series of posts I am going to cover how to develop your Marketing Strategy so that you know how to position your business and then I will cover the Operational Strategy to ensure that the Marketing Plan is executed within the cost framework. The Marketing Strategy will be the biggest driver of your web site design BUT we do have to also consider the operational aspects too.
